Hi, I’m Wendy.

California-based home builder, budget decorator, and slow curator of a life I love.

A few years ago, my husband and I built our home from the ground up, on a real budget, with intention, and a lot of patience. We didn’t have a designer or an unlimited credit card. What we had was a vision: a home that felt warm, light, and alive. A space that could hold our creativity, our work, and our life all at once.

We sourced every single piece ourselves. We thrifted, we waited, we refinished, we DIYed. And we’re still going.. slowly and deliberately filling each room with curated pieces that actually mean something. Not fast furniture. Not trendy filler. Just good things, chosen carefully.

That process, building something beautiful on a budget, one intentional piece at a time, is exactly what this blog is about.

Who this is for

If you’re a millennial working from home in California (or anywhere, really) who wants their space to feel warm, airy, and creative without spending a fortune, you’re in the right place. Whether you’re renting and working with what you’ve got, tackling your first DIY project, or slowly building a home you truly love, this blog is for you.

I share budget home decor ideas, vintage and thrifted finds, DIY home projects, and cozy work-from-home space inspiration, all rooted in a light, ranch-inspired aesthetic that feels calm, creative, and real.

The aesthetic

Think worn linen, natural wood, warm neutrals, and vintage pieces with a story. Light and airy rooms that still feel lived-in and personal. Spaces that make you want to sit down, breathe, and actually do your best work. Inspired by designers like Amber Lewis, but made achievable on a budget most of us actually have.

Let’s build something beautiful

I believe your home should fuel you, personally and professionally. And I believe you don’t have to spend a lot to make it feel extraordinary. Stick around, and let’s figure it out together, one room, one find, one project at a time.
